A workshop, not a museum

The old site did one thing well: it gave people material they could actually use. Course notes, small programs, and years of comment threads where readers worked through real problems. That was worth preserving, so it now lives in the archive, at the original links and unchanged.

But an archive is a museum. This page is the workshop.

This is where the live work will go: notes on bridge traffic loading and reliability, what field data can and cannot tell us in structural health monitoring, software from the group, and the occasional unfinished idea written down to see whether it survives contact with words. Some of it will be useful. Some of it will not. That is what a notebook is for.
